The most famous and great tradition is to hold dragon boat races, which are held by fishermen beating drums and rowing dragon-shaped boats to protect Qu Yuan's body from fish and other animals in the river. Nowadays, dragon boat races have become an annual popular sports activity for people. In addition, it is also a popular custom to make zongzi on this day. Zongzi are made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves.

Today, people eat zongzi, race dragon boats, and wear colored threads on their wrists to bring good luck. Now it has become one of the national holidays in China.
